Support Team Mwangaza for the Kilimanjaro Marathon!

The Kilimanjaro Marathon is in its 20th year! Faculty from Mwangaza ran the marathon on February 27, 2022 to raise money and support for Mwangaza's programming, and specifically the Binti/Mama program. Binti/Mama brings together intergenerational teams of women and girls, daughters, mothers, and grandmothers. Together, they become trainers in their communities about issues affecting women and girls, such as health, finances, and family.

In total, 19 staff members ran for Team Mwangaza in the Kilimarathon. They trained for the event for months and it showed - 13 members won medals in the race!

For 25 years Mwangaza has modeled education for partnership. They have been tackling issues related to teaching, learning, public health, empowering women, and building community. They work with secondary schools and churches across Tanzania. Just like running a marathon, they are in this work for the long run! You can learn more about Mwangaza’s programming here.

Thank you for supporting Team Mwangaza!

We asked you to show your support for Team Mwangaza by running or walking in your own corner of the world - or leave the running up to them and give financial support instead.

With your generosity, we were able to raise more than half of their $10,000 goal. All proceeds will help expand Binti/Mama to reach more women and girls in their communities.
